Two Birds Café is a local favourite in trendy Collingwood. The owner, Justin, loves bookkeeping in Xero and is becoming an expert in all functions. Everything is always in control and up to date.
THE PROBLEM
Due to the nature of the hospitality industry, staff turnover is high. After the introduction of the Single Touch Payroll (businesses must report salaries, wages, PAYG withholdings and superannuation to the Australian Tax Office every pay cycle), Justin needs help to optimise his payroll process and become compliant with requirements.
OUR SOLUTION
After studying his current payroll process, the team at Cloud8 found that a lot of Justin’s payroll compliance tasks were still paper based. As Justin was already familiar with Xero beekeeping functions, we recommended the Xero Payroll function and subsequently converted all his employee details, pay rates and pay runs into Xero Payroll. We also reaffirmed that all the pay rates are in accordance with the requirements of Hospitality Industry (General) Award.
THE OUTCOME
Now, Birds Café is Single Touch Payroll ready! And Justin is fully trained to use Xero Payroll.
